The band’s history started in winter 2006 when Azkel (guitar) and Blutfürst (drums) decided to make music together. Shortly afterwards, Antis joined and took over the part of the singer. Initially associated with Thrash/Death Metal, Skady pursued a new musical path outside gridlocked boundaries after the first demo “Treibjagd”.
The debut album was released in autumn 2009. “Eyn Raunen in Tannicht” convinced fans and press with its pagan style and sold very well in Germany. Despite some personal changes, the band grew together and refined its distinctive style.
After the first album and various concerts, the guys started writing material for a new album. Due to further line-up changes, the recordings for “Mysterium” couldn’t be completed until winter 2011. The two new members Djerun (drums) and Varr (second guitar) brought fresh thoughts and ideas into the band and helped to make “Mysterium” more diverse and clearly distinguishable from the first album.
In summer 2012, the cohesion of Skady was put to a test again when singer Andras, one of the first members who enriched both albums “Eyn Raunen im Tannicht” and “Mysterium” with his voice, had to leave the band. After weeks of searching for a suitable successor, Sorg joined and revived Skady with his unique vocal style; he also wrote challenging lyrics for a third album. In autumn 2014, after a year in search of a label, “When Sun Disappeared” was finally released on CD through the American labels Black Plague Records and Metallic Media.
In the meantime, a music video for the song “Omega” was shot in Berlin and released online.
Now that “When Sun disappeared” is out, Skady’s looking forward to new listeners and upcoming concert highlights.
